Instawork Robotics creates high-quality, high-diversity datasets for robotics and physical AI, working with leading robotics builders and research labs to close the data gap in the industry. We are seeking a Head of Quality Assurance with 10+ years of experience in automotive, manufacturing, mobility, robotics, or related industries to own the end-to-end quality and data-labeling function.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building quality systems from the ground up, establishing rigorous processes, leading teams, and driving a strong quality culture across operations and engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
• Own the QA/QC function by building and leading the overall quality strategy, processes, standards, and KPIs across operations and manufacturing.
• Establish robust visual inspection and defect detection processes, including inspection standards, sampling methodologies, defect classification, and root-cause analysis.
• Design and implement SOPs, inspection protocols, quality gates, audit mechanisms, CAPA, and continuous improvement processes.
• Build, manage, and develop high-performing QA/QC teams across locations and functions.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Product teams to identify and eliminate recurring quality issues.
• Build quality dashboards and drive metrics such as defect rates, first-pass yield, rework, rejection rates, customer complaints, and quality escapes.
• Drive supplier quality, incoming inspection, in-process quality, and final inspection standards.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and quality improvement initiatives using structured methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in manufacturing quality systems, team leadership experience, and a track record of building quality cultures in complex, data-driven environments.
