Terac is building infrastructure to intelligently match human capability with work on demand. The company currently places thousands of experts monthly across 50+ projects with 25+ clients, paying experts an average of $90/hour. You will join as Head of Projects to lead the delivery and customer success side of the business, partnering directly with the CEO.
In this role, you will lead and scale the projects team from 5 to 20+ people, managing project leads and recruiters across complex AI data and evaluation projects. You'll drive on-time, high-quality delivery across custom data pipelines and expert labeling workflows, with sharp focus on throughput, quality, and cost efficiency. You'll ensure a top-tier experience for Terac's expert network, enabling them to produce high-quality, scalable data while feeling supported and informed.
You will own performance metrics across your portfolio including quality, throughput, SLAs, utilization, and margin, using data to drive continuous improvement. You'll partner with Product and Engineering to evolve internal tooling, workflows, and systems that unlock efficiency and quality gains. You'll also manage key customer relationships and ensure nothing falls through the cracks as the company scales to hundreds of monthly projects across 100+ clients by end of 2026.
You thrive in ambiguity, have exceptional judgment, and can context-switch between strategic planning, tactical execution, and people operations. You have experience in operationally intensive roles such as marketplace operations, data operations, or strategy and operations. You've managed high-performing teams in fast-paced, execution-focused environments and led complex, multi-stakeholder projects from definition through delivery, ideally with AI, data, or technical workflows. Background in operations or strategy at early-stage or high-growth startups, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or AI data operations is a plus.
Terac is a 15-person pre-seed startup based in San Francisco. The role offers competitive salary, meaningful equity vested over four years, $10K relocation bonus, $5K housing bonus (if relocating within 0.5 miles of office), health/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) with company match. You'll operate in-person six days per week in the downtown SF office and have the opportunity to shape the company as a founding member.
