As Head of People Strategy & Operations, you will report to the VP of Operations & People and lead the People Strategy & Operations function while partnering closely with the Executive, Finance, IT, Clinical Strategy, Sales, and Engineering teams. You will shape the strategy and execution of Nourish's People function, working with the executive team and department heads to maintain the company's high talent bar, develop and retain team members, and drive performance across the organization as it scales. The role is critical to bolstering Nourish's high-performance, ambitious culture and increasing talent density.
Key responsibilities include: directly managing the People Strategy & Operations function to drive best-in-class execution and speed, building the team as the company scales with ownership of org design, planning, tech stack, hiring, and critical metrics; driving strategy for the People function including talent density, employee upskilling, manager enablement, retention, performance management, and culture; building the operating system required to scale by designing processes, tools, and decision-making cadences; owning all People Operations processes and systems, including the People tech stack, budget, and vendor relationships; and serving as a trusted partner to the executive team and department heads to drive team performance.
The role is full-time and based in Nourish's Gramercy office in NYC, with an expectation to work in-person approximately 3 days per week and some additional remote flexibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7–10 years of experience with a mix of strategy work (e.g., management consulting, business operations, financial services) and start-up experience; direct People and Talent-related experience preferred but not required
- Strong people instincts and communication skills, with the ability to influence Director, VP, and C-suite stakeholders and craft culture as the company scales
- Strategic thinker who uses data and first principles to solve problems; willing to challenge mainstream thinking if it doesn't work for Nourish
- Operationally excellent with ability to manage high volume of moving pieces and competing priorities with strong attention to detail and organization skills while maintaining momentum in a fast-paced environment
- Highly collaborative and cross-functional, able to work effectively across departments
- Energized by 0→1 and 1→10 work; enjoys stepping into undefined spaces to build structure, momentum, and clarity
