InnovaMat is an educational organization specializing in mathematics teaching, founded in Barcelona in 2017. The company provides schools with evidence-based mathematics programs from Early Childhood Education through Secondary School, serving more than 720,000 students across 9 countries. InnovaMat was the first non-U.S. organization to successfully complete California State Board of Education's adoption process for a core mathematics curriculum. You will be based in Mexico City and report directly to the Global Head of Operations in Barcelona. You will lead operations across the Americas (LatAm and the United States), overseeing a multidisciplinary team that includes Customer Support, Logistics, Operations Engineering, Legal, and Finance Operations. The role requires relocation to Mexico City with regular travel to Barcelona and across the region. Key responsibilities include: 1. Lead the local operations team in person, providing context, direction, career development, and day-to-day unblocking. The team currently receives leadership via video calls at odd hours and needs on-ground leadership. 2. Serve as the operational reference point for regional leadership and country managers. You will translate business needs into operational requirements and coordinate with Barcelona headquarters to ensure timely execution. Example: piloting new products in the US requires coordinating material production, shipping, US customs clearance, and license provisioning. 3. Challenge global processes and systems from a local perspective. You will identify where Barcelona-designed processes don't work in Mexico or the US and push for necessary changes. InnovaMat runs operations centrally from Barcelona (supply chain, systems, revenue analytics, support engineering) to maintain efficiency and spread best practices across markets. However, the Americas region has grown into a real operations hub requiring dedicated local leadership. You will own the vertical operations for the Americas while interfacing with global horizontal disciplines. The role sits at the intersection of team leadership, regional business partnership, and global process improvement. You'll move between board-level conversations and operational spreadsheets daily, managing stakeholders across cultures, seniority levels, and time zones. REQUIREMENTS: - Solid experience running operations in a fast-growing, high-standards environment (operations, supply chain, business operations, regional operations, strategy and operations, or strong consulting background followed by real operating roles) - Demonstrated experience leading a team, including managing difficult interpersonal situations - Ability to move fluidly between strategic and tactical work - Strong stakeholder management across cultures, seniority levels, and time zones - Structured, systems-minded thinking; ability to identify patterns and spec solutions clearly - High ownership and resilience - Fluent in Spanish and English (both required daily) - Willingness to travel across the region, including to the US - Comfort using AI tools to increase productivity - Nice to have: supply chain or physical distribution experience, familiarity with CRM and operational tooling (Salesforce), EdTech or B2B institutional customer experience
