Skydio, the leading US autonomous drone company, is seeking a Head of Material Program Management & Procurement to lead supply chain execution and material planning. This director-level role owns the end-to-end materials function, including Clear-to-Build (CTB) analysis, MRP development and execution, material planning, and procurement operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Owning the CTB process to provide reliable visibility into material readiness against production plans, developing methodologies that connect demand, inventory, purchase orders, lead times, and BOM requirements.
• Establishing forward-looking material coverage and shortage analysis across planning horizons; identifying material constraints before they impact production and driving cross-functional resolution.
• Developing shortage prioritization and escalation processes based on production impact, customer requirements, and business priority.
• Owning MRP process development, implementation, and continuous improvement; translating demand forecasts, production schedules, and supplier lead times into executable material requirements.
• Improving MRP input quality including lead times, safety stocks, order policies, and planning parameters; partnering with IT and ERP/MRP system owners to enhance planning capabilities.
• Leading day-to-day procurement execution, managing buyer/planner performance across PO placement, confirmations, expedites, reschedules, and shortage resolution.
• Driving supplier accountability for delivery performance and establishing escalation paths for critical shortages.
• Improving inventory health through shortage reduction, excess/obsolete inventory management, and inventory turns optimization.
• Developing dashboards and management reporting that translate supply data into clear operational decisions.
• Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of buyers, planners, and materials professionals.
• Partnering closely with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Engineering, NPI, Quality, Finance, and Logistics to ensure material readiness supports production and business objectives.
• Supporting new product introductions by establishing material plans, supplier readiness, and procurement processes prior to production ramp.
Success is measured through CTB percentage and accuracy, material shortage count and aging, production disruptions, supplier on-time delivery, past-due PO reduction, MRP exception aging, expedite frequency, inventory turns, and planning parameter accuracy.
