Konfio is Mexico's leading fintech company, serving over 100,000 SME customers with innovative financial solutions including lending, credit cards, and payments. The company is seeking a Head of Lending to lead the design, profitability, and comprehensive management of the SME credit offering.
In this role, you will own the P&L and portfolio management for the SME lending business, ensuring current portfolio sustainability while launching new products with regulatory compliance and real business impact. You will report to senior leadership and drive strategic initiatives across the lending function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead profitability, P&L management, and credit portfolio oversight for SMEs, monitoring KPIs including delinquency rates, loan origination volume, and cost of risk
- Design and manage launches of new financial products such as revolving credit lines, merchant cash advances, factoring, and equipment leasing
- Define business rules, underwriting policies, origination processes, and risk-adjusted pricing at the product, offer, and customer levels
- Build and operate development bank guarantee schemes (NAFIN and Bancomext) under pari passu and first-loss structures
- Lead regulatory relationships and compliance with Mexican financial authorities including Condusef and Banxico
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Legal, Risk, Operations, IT, and Finance teams to implement end-to-end improvements
- Redesign the corporate onboarding process to reduce friction in the digital experience
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in banking or financial services
- 5+ years in leadership roles managing SME credit portfolios and P&L
- Deep expertise in credit product structuring and risk-adjusted pricing
- Experience engaging with senior counterparties and Mexican financial regulators (Condusef, Banxico, NAFIN, Bancomext)
- Advanced English proficiency
- Preferred: Fintech or technology-enabled financial services experience
