Salary: USD 200,000 - 300,000 / annual
Magic is building safe AGI to accelerate humanity's progress on critical problems. As Head of IT, you will own all systems that keep the company productive and secure—a hands-on leadership role managing a small IT team while remaining deeply technical.
You'll own the full IT function end-to-end: systems, endpoints, identity management, SaaS platforms, office infrastructure, support, and IT security. Key responsibilities include leading and developing your team, setting technical direction and standards, and making automation the default to eliminate toil and enable self-service capabilities.
Specific focus areas include identity and access management (SSO, SCIM, MFA, MDM), core SaaS administration (Google Workspace, Slack), endpoint management across macOS, and office technology across Magic's locations (networking, AV, conference rooms, physical security). You'll partner closely with the Security team on least privilege access, endpoint protection, patching, vulnerability management, and incident response.
You'll build scalable IT systems, processes, and controls as Magic grows from a fast-paced technical environment. The role requires deep hands-on expertise with macOS, MDM, Google Workspace, SaaS, identity, and access systems. You should be skilled in using automation, APIs, AI tools, and scripting (Bash/Python) to eliminate manual work and scale operations.
