Baseten is a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company that powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies like Cursor, Notion, and Abridge. Recently raised $1.5B in Series F funding, the company is scaling from startup to enterprise operations.
As Head of IT, you will lead the transformation of Baseten's internal technology function from startup-era operations to an enterprise-ready, highly automated organization. You'll report to the Chief Information Security Officer and manage a team of 5+ IT engineers, taking full ownership of corporate IT infrastructure, helpdesk operations, identity management, device lifecycles, and vendor procurement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and mentoring a high-performance IT team focused on technical excellence and employee satisfaction
- Establishing helpdesk operational excellence with clear SLAs, satisfaction metrics, and incident response processes
- Architecting zero-touch automation for employee onboarding, offboarding, and access management through integrations with HRIS, MDM, and IAM systems
- Implementing comprehensive SaaS management to eliminate shadow IT, optimize vendor spend, and provide visibility into corporate tools
- Deploying AI-enabled workflows and automated IT agents powered by Baseten's own models to resolve tickets and boost productivity
- Managing global hardware logistics, device lifecycles, software licenses, and corporate IT budgets
You'll need 5+ years of IT leadership experience, ideally 2+ years as Head of IT or IT Director at a developer-focused SaaS or AI infrastructure startup scaling through rapid growth (100 to 500+ employees). Deep expertise required in Zero Trust Network Access, IAM/SSO (Okta, Google Workspace), MDM (Kandji, Jamf), and HRIS integrations (Rippling). You should have a proven track record in vendor negotiations, hardware logistics, license consolidation, and IT budget ownership. An AI-first mindset and ability to build enterprise processes from scratch are essential.
