Papaya Global, a B2B SaaS unicorn with $400M+ in funding, is seeking a Head of Global Payroll Operations to lead EMEA regional operations. This is a director-level role overseeing payroll and Employer of Record (EOR) service delivery across the region.
You will manage team leads responsible for payroll and service delivery operations, directly shaping how Papaya serves clients across 160+ countries. Key responsibilities include:
**Leadership & Team Management**: Direct oversight of payroll and EOR team leads; mentorship and skill development; fostering accountability and continuous improvement; cross-functional coordination between payroll and EOR teams.
**Operational Excellence**: Drive efficiency and scalability improvements; optimize workflows for timely, accurate, compliant service delivery; monitor and improve SLAs and KPIs; identify automation and process improvement opportunities.
**Service Delivery & Client Success**: Serve as escalation point for complex issues; partner with account management, implementation, and data teams; ensure client health and satisfaction through proactive issue resolution.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Work with global operations, HR, legal, and compliance teams; collaborate with product and engineering to optimize systems for operational needs and compliance.
**Strategic Initiatives**: Lead operational projects contributing to global strategy; develop frameworks for managing regional and cross-border payroll and EOR complexities.
Required qualifications: 10+ years in operations with strong payroll/HR services focus; 5+ years leading teams of 15+ across functions or regions; in-depth payroll expertise and systems knowledge; EOR or HR outsourcing experience; exceptional leadership and communication skills; proven track record driving operational excellence in fast-paced, global environments; strong project management; customer-centric mindset; fluent English (additional languages a plus).
