Monad Foundation is seeking a Head of Ecosystem to lead the growth and development of the Monad blockchain ecosystem. Monad is a performant and parallel EVM Layer 1 blockchain designed to enable decentralized applications at scale.
In this role, you will define ecosystem strategy, attract exceptional founders and builders, and support teams from initial exploration through successful deployment and sustained growth. You will own ecosystem strategy, founder and builder programs, and work closely with Engineering, Developer Relations, and Marketing. Your mandate is to build and grow a thriving on-chain ecosystem while ensuring builders have the tools, relationships, resources, and support needed to build, launch, and scale successful applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting ecosystem strategy by identifying applications, verticals, and markets where Monad has a compelling advantage, translating strategy into clear priorities, budgets, and measurable goals
- Attracting and supporting high-quality builders through relationship building, sourcing promising projects, and leading their journey from initial engagement through deployment and growth
- Securing strategic collaborations and deployments with builders, accelerators, users, investors, and operators
- Identifying gaps in sectors and applications to build a complete ecosystem
- Designing and managing grants, accelerators, and ecosystem incentives with clear selection criteria and accountability
- Connecting founders with support including GTM advisory, funding opportunities, launch resources, and users
- Bringing ecosystem feedback into product and engineering roadmaps to address onboarding friction
- Driving ecosystem go-to-market initiatives with Marketing on application launches, campaigns, and founder stories
- Building and leading the ecosystem team through hiring, development, and establishing effective operating processes
- Tracking ecosystem health and resource effectiveness, adjusting strategy based on builder retention and on-chain activity
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in ecosystem development, growth, product management, or business development in technology, fintech, or financial services
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in crypto or Web3, with strong understanding of blockchain ecosystems, DeFi, and factors influencing where builders choose to build
- 2+ years leading ecosystem development, incubation, or growth initiatives with ownership of strategy, execution, and measurable outcomes
- 2+ years of experience at an L1 or L2 blockchain, attracting builders, developing strategic collaborations, and supporting projects from engagement through launch and adoption
- 2+ years of people management experience, having built, scaled, and managed a team
- 2+ years of entrepreneurial or startup operating experience, with track record of working closely with early-stage founders on product positioning, go-to-market strategy, fundraising readiness, and ecosystem connections
- Experience designing or managing builder support programs such as grants, accelerators, incubation programs, or ecosystem incentives with clear milestones and evaluation criteria
- Strong relationships across crypto founders, developers, infrastructure providers, and investors, with ability to translate relationships into successful collaborations
- Commercial and product judgment to evaluate emerging applications, structure collaborations, and allocate resources against ecosystem priorities
- Experience leading cross-functional teams or programs, aligning technical and commercial stakeholders, and remaining directly involved in execution
- Clear communication and strong analytical skills, with ability to represent the ecosystem externally and measure success through builder retention, application traction, and sustained on-chain activity
