Hims & Hers, a leading telehealth and wellness platform (NYSE: HIMS), is seeking a Head Compounding Pharmacist to lead their compounding pharmacy operations in Gilbert, Arizona. Reporting to the Director of Compounding Production, you will oversee the strategic development and growth of compounding capabilities while serving as a subject matter expert in developing new compounded treatments.
You will directly supervise all compounding personnel, including training, evaluation, and workflow management. Key responsibilities include performing and documenting compounding procedures, quality assurance/quality control checks, and dispensing of compounded preparations in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations. You will review and approve materials for compounding, oversee equipment calibration and maintenance, and ensure the compounding environment meets all safety standards.
You will work closely with R&D teams on the development and scale-up of new compounded formulations, ensuring compliance with USP <795>, <800>, and other relevant guidelines. You'll develop and evaluate standard operating procedures for the compounding lab, coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-Charge on compliance and regulatory matters, and maintain a safety-first mindset when working with hazardous chemicals.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy with an active Arizona pharmacist license; 5+ years of pharmacist experience with at least 3 years in compounding pharmacy; strong knowledge of non-sterile compounding, pharmacy regulations, and compounding equipment; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift 25+ pounds; ability to pass respirator fit testing (full beards may be problematic); proficiency in Windows-based systems and English (verbal and written). You must be able to stand for extended periods and wear compounding safety equipment as required.
