Tide is a fintech platform serving over 2 million SMEs globally with business banking, invoicing, accounting, and lending solutions across the UK, India, Germany, and France. The company has raised over $300 million and operates from offices in London, Hyderabad, Berlin, Paris, and other European hubs.
You will lead Tide's collections strategy and operations for the UK/Europe region, reporting to the SVP of Member Operations. This is a hands-on leadership role managing a small but growing team of collections managers and specialists distributed across the UK, Bulgaria, and India.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning collections strategy across multiple lending portfolios (BBLS, Tide Capital transactional credit, CreditFlex, commercial and credit cards, and expense card chargebacks)
- Leading and developing a distributed collections team while balancing strategic direction with operational execution
- Optimizing recovery rates through process improvement and forbearance solutions while ensuring fair member treatment and regulatory compliance
- Managing relationships with debt collection agencies, overseeing performance and contracts
- Collaborating with product, data, risk, compliance, finance, and legal teams to enhance collections tools and automation
- Improving management reporting and data-driven decision-making
- Recruiting, upskilling, and retaining high-performing team members
You should have extensive hands-on experience as a collections leader in UK small business or consumer lending, with deep expertise in government-backed and unsecured loan portfolios. You're passionate about optimizing recovery while delivering great member experience. You thrive in fast-paced fintech environments, are comfortable with test-and-learn approaches, and have proven track records managing teams and outsourced collections partners. You're data-driven, comfortable with OKRs/KPIs/KRIs/SLAs, and can articulate clear strategic vision to cross-functional stakeholders.
