Arista Networks is seeking a Hardware NPI (New Product Introduction) / Debug Engineer to join their team in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. This is a hands-on technical role that bridges design engineering and manufacturing, focused on delivering early prototypes of high-performance networking hardware to large data center customers.
You will take ownership of end-to-end prototype builds in partnership with Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams, with the goal of rapidly maturing designs and manufacturing processes to yield field-trial-ready units. The role involves leading complex systems-level debugging and root-cause analysis on sophisticated networking platforms—from compact 1RU switches to massive modular chassis that integrate high-density PCBs, advanced interconnects, high-performance ASICs, and sophisticated thermal management solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading early prototype builds and driving rapid design maturation
- Influencing product design through Design for Excellence (DFM, DFT, DFQ, DFR) by reviewing schematics and layouts
- Conducting systems debug and establishing technical foundations for future senior engineering roles
- Driving continuous improvement through cross-functional partnerships with internal Engineering and Platform Design teams
- Mentoring Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners to uphold production and quality standards
- Managing complex optical and flyover cable assemblies and intricate hardware systems
This role offers a fast track to understanding core AI data center switching fabric products and the processes necessary to fabricate, manufacture, and test next-generation networking systems. You will develop deep systems-thinking skills and gain exposure to hardware development, manufacturing, test, and product engineering functions.
Requirements:
- BSEE degree required; MSEE degree strongly desired
- 5+ years of experience in Hardware, NPI, Sustaining, and/or Test Engineering within Networking, AI, GPU, or Computing industries
- Expertise in system-level debugging, root cause analysis, and proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Knowledge of industry manufacturing standards (IPC, JEDEC) and experience with complex fab structures (VIPPO, backdrill) and electro/mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret schematics, board layout files, mechanical drawings, and datasheets
- Ability to read command-line logs and diagnostics independently
- Strong self-starting mindset with ability to drive improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills; English fluency is mandatory
- Malay and/or Vietnamese fluency desired
- Must be passport ready and able to travel to CM sites within Asia
