As a Hardware Engineering Program Manager, you will lead end-to-end development and execution of cutting-edge hardware programs from prototype through production and factory line bring-up. You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, operations, and product management, serving as the central orchestrator for complex cross-functional initiatives.
Key responsibilities include: leading product development from requirements definition through validation, certification, ramp-up, and sustaining phases; coordinating with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and industrial design teams to establish and track program schedules; leveraging engineering expertise to de-risk development and resolve testing, line bring-up, SOP, factory flow, and yield challenges; owning build plans and unit allocation for product launches; serving as the primary contact for an international network of manufacturing partners; driving vendors toward aggressive schedules; and guiding compliance, sustaining work, and post-launch failure analysis.
You'll lead weekly vendor calls, internal team updates, and executive presentations while coordinating launch execution across engineering, product, and supply chain teams. The role requires 3+ years developing and manufacturing new electronics products with at least one complete hardware development cycle through launch. You need strong technical knowledge of electrical design, validation, and manufacturing (SMT and FATP exposure preferred), plus 3+ years working with overseas hardware supply chains. A B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is required. Mandarin fluency and international travel (up to 20%) are valued. This is a full-time, in-person role based in San Mateo, CA.
