Oura is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Manager to own the Market Expansion & Enablement pillar of its newly organized Global Trade Program. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a program from scratch, not inherit an existing one.
You will own trade readiness for new product introductions and new market entries, running classification, origin pre-assessments, and market-entry regulatory scans before launch commitments are made. You'll build and administer repeatable trade-readiness checklists and review cadences to ensure trade input reaches product and go-to-market decisions early, preventing trade issues from becoming post-launch blockers. You'll serve as Trade's voice in launch decision forums, providing product and regional expansion teams with clear, defensible trade-readiness signals for go/no-go decisions.
You will act as connective tissue between the Risk, Controls & Governance pillar and the Trade Value Optimization pillar, establishing handoff mechanisms for new SKU, market-entry, and channel-expansion signals. You'll give the Trade Value Optimization lead advance visibility into upcoming launches so FTA eligibility, preferential program qualification, and first-sale opportunities can be evaluated before sourcing and pricing are finalized.
Key responsibilities include designing and standing up intake, documentation, and escalation processes; building and maintaining a Trade Request Intake process so requests are logged and tracked rather than handled ad hoc; and reporting on pillar KPIs including the percentage of launches with trade readiness assessed before commitment and average lead time between trade engagement and launch date.
You'll need 8-12+ years of professional experience in global trade compliance, customs, or international trade operations, ideally in consumer electronics, health-tech/medical devices, or CPG. Deep working knowledge of global import/export regulations, HS classification, country-of-origin determinations, and trade-risk assessment for new product launches is essential. You must demonstrate proven ability to build a program, process, or function from scratch with judgment to define governance and cadence where none exists. Excellent cross-functional influence skills are critical—you'll need to get Product, Legal, Sourcing, and Go-to-Market teams to adopt a new trade-readiness gate without formal authority. Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable escalating risk and readiness status to program leadership, are required. Familiarity with FTA/preferential trade programs and duty-savings mechanisms is a plus. OE & IT Diploma in International Trade / World Customs Compliance, or CILT Certificate of Customs Competency, is preferred but not required.
