As a Global Operations Associate based in Amsterdam, you will be a critical operational leader ensuring smooth execution of shipments across your regional network. You will serve as the front line for quality assurance, managing the end-to-end movement of freight shipments (both imports and exports, including intermodal movements) while maintaining on-time delivery, budget adherence, and exceptional customer experience. Key responsibilities include: - Ensuring shipments move on-time with proactive exception handling and clear client communication - Managing work independently to meet internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery - Following standard operating procedures while identifying and flagging improvement opportunities - Solving client issues quickly and escalating to senior team members as needed - Coordinating day-to-day operations with internal and external partners (carriers, vendors, customs, regional trade lane management, cross-functional stakeholders) - Using data and operational tools to identify patterns, inform decisions, and drive efficiency improvements - Acting cost-consciously to avoid leakages and support company profitability - Assisting partner-managed shipments as the company drives partner autonomy and operational parity You will work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment where you'll have the opportunity to help build Flexport's next operational model and scale the company's mission globally. REQUIREMENTS: - BA/BS degree or completed professional training as a forwarding agent - 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or freight forwarding - Mandatory fluency in Dutch and English - Technology and AI-first mindset; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments - Strong time management and ability to prioritize large volumes of tasks - Meticulous attention to detail - Ability to seek and receive feedback effectively - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Teamwork and relationship-building capabilities - Orientation toward working smarter and adopting best practices and standardization - Problem-solving capabilities - Compliance-first attitude for heavily regulated industry operations - Client service mindset with obsession for client satisfaction and troubleshooting
