As a Global Operations Associate based in Barcelona, you will be a frontline operations professional responsible for ensuring Flexport's quality standards are met across shipment movements. Your core responsibilities include: • Managing end-to-end freight shipment movements within a regional network, including imports, exports, and intermodal movements • Ensuring shipments move on-time and exceptions are handled proactively, maintaining internal KPIs and SLAs • Providing timely, clear communication to clients to deliver a first-class experience • Solving client issues quickly and independently, escalating to senior team members when needed • Coordinating day-to-day operations with internal and external partners including carriers, vendors, customs brokers, and cross-functional stakeholders • Following standard operating procedures while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement • Using data and operational tools to inform decisions, identify patterns, and contribute to efficiency improvements • Acting in the company's best interest by avoiding cost leakages and maintaining cost-conscious behavior • Supporting partner-managed shipments as the company drives partner autonomy and operational parity You will work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment where attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving are essential. The role requires a compliance-first mindset given the heavily regulated nature of international freight forwarding, combined with a client service obsession and commitment to continuous improvement. Requirements: • BA/BS degree or completed professional training as a forwarding agent • 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or freight forwarding • Technology and AI-first mindset; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments • Effective time management and ability to prioritize and manage large volumes of tasks • Strong attention to detail • Ability to seek and receive feedback effectively • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong teamwork and relationship-building capabilities • Orientation toward working smarter and adopting best practices and standardization • Problem-solving capabilities • Compliance-first attitude to support regulatory requirements • Client service mindset with obsession for client satisfaction and troubleshooting • Mandatory Spanish language proficiency and fluency in English
