Salary: EUR 28,000 - 38,500 / annual

As a Global Operations Associate based in Milan, you will be a critical operational leader ensuring the smooth execution of shipments across Flexport's regional network. You will serve as the front line of quality, managing the movement of freight (both imports and exports) while coordinating with internal teams and external partners including steamship lines, air carriers, customs brokers, trucking providers, and warehousing vendors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all customer shipments execute on time and within budget, meeting internal KPIs and SLAs
- Managing day-to-day logistics operations and resolving client issues quickly
- Coordinating end-to-end freight movement within the regional network, including intermodal movements
- Following standard operating procedures while maintaining cost-conscious behavior
- Identifying and driving operational efficiencies and process improvements
- Escalating issues appropriately and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
- Supporting partner autonomy initiatives as applicable

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or completed professional training as a forwarding agent
- 1-2+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or air carrier operations (air freight knowledge is a plus)
- Fluent in Italian and English (other European languages are a plus)
- Ability to adapt to new technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize large volumes of tasks
- Attention to detail and effective communication (verbal and written)
- Problem-solving capabilities and teamwork orientation
- Compliance-first mindset for regulated industry operations
- Ability to seek and receive feedback effectively
