As a Global Operations Associate based in Hamburg, you will be a critical part of Flexport's mission to make global trade easy. You will serve as the front line ensuring the highest standards of quality, managing the end-to-end movement of shipments (both imports and exports) within your regional network, including intermodal movements. Your day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating supply chain operations with ocean activities, managing customer communications, and ensuring on-time performance and exception handling. Key responsibilities: - Ensure shipments move on-time with proactive exception handling and first-class customer communication - Independently manage priorities and commitments while satisfying internal KPIs and SLAs - Follow standard operating procedures and flag improvement opportunities - Solve client issues quickly and escalate to senior team members as needed - Coordinate day-to-day operations with internal and external partners (carriers, vendors, customs, regional trade lane management) - Execute end-to-end freight movement for both imports and exports - Use data and operational tools to identify patterns and drive efficiency improvements - Maintain cost-conscious behavior and avoid operational leakages - Support partner operations as the company drives partner autonomy You will work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment focused on innovation, process automation, and data-driven decision-making. Requirements: - BA/BS degree or completed professional training as a forwarding agent - 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or freight forwarding - Technology and AI-first mindset; ability to thrive in fast-paced environment - Effective time management and ability to prioritize large volumes of tasks - Strong attention to detail - Ability to seek and receive feedback - Effective verbal and written communication - Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills - Orientation toward working smarter and adopting best practices - Problem-solving capabilities - Compliance-first attitude for heavily regulated industry - Client service mindset with obsession for client satisfaction - Mandatory German language proficiency and fluency in English
