The Global Operations Allocation Manager sits at the critical intersection of Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance. This role acts as the strategic gatekeeper of inventory, ensuring available product is deployed to maximize financial return and honor key customer commitments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Order Management: Review, evaluate, and approve large, exceptional, or out-of-cycle orders to ensure alignment with supply capabilities and business strategy
- Inventory Allocation: Distribute constrained inventory across customer accounts based on strategic tiering, contractual commitments, and financial/revenue plans
- Demand Validation: Collaborate with Sales leadership and Account Managers to determine true customer need versus initial requests, preventing inventory hoarding and ensuring equitable distribution
- Sales & Operations Execution: Bridge long-term supply plans and daily execution, serving as final decision-maker on order fulfillment priorities during stockouts or supply disruptions
- Financial Alignment: Partner with Finance to ensure allocation decisions support quarterly revenue targets, margin goals, and inventory turnover KPIs
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement standardized allocation playbooks, rules of engagement, and escalation procedures for Sales and Supply Chain teams
The role requires 5 days per week on-site presence in San Mateo, CA, with approximately 10-20% travel to customer sites, 3PL facilities, and partner locations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, Order Management, or Supply Chain Program Management
- Direct experience with physical hardware, complex industrial equipment, or capital assets (not solely software or services)
- Proven experience managing multi-pallet freight, warehouse-to-warehouse transfers, and US-to-International shipping, including working knowledge of Incoterms, customs, and freight forwarding
- Strong attention to detail with ability to review and validate technical equipment specifications, trailer/vehicle configurations, and regional compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-quarter project rollouts using standard templates, ERPs, and CRMs
- Excellent communication skills bridging Sales (commercial needs), Product (technical constraints), and Warehousing (physical reality)
- Bias for action with high tolerance for ambiguity; ability to manage escalations and reprioritize on the fly
- Track record of driving accountability across teams you do not manage
- Must be independently authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available
- Willingness and ability to commute 5 days in office
