Wordsmith is a legal operations platform for in-house legal teams, backed by $100M from Index Ventures and General Catalyst. The company serves 500+ customers including Financial Times, Canva, and Sage, and is building AI-powered tools to help legal teams move faster and reduce external counsel spend. You will own global office and facilities operations across Wordsmith's locations in Edinburgh (base), London, and New York. This is a hands-on, high-tempo role managing day-to-day facilities, office launches, vendor relationships, health & safety compliance, and workplace experience. You'll ensure spaces are safe, well-run, high-quality, and support the company's office-first culture. Key responsibilities include: - Own day-to-day facilities and workplace operations across Edinburgh, London, and New York offices - Ensure offices meet high standards for safety, organization, and employee experience - Manage vendors (cleaning, maintenance, security, catering, utilities, landlords) - Lead office openings, moves, expansions, and fit-out projects - Build scalable workplace systems, processes, and budgets - Partner with People, IT, and leadership on onboarding, events, and employee experience - Maintain compliance with health & safety and workplace regulations - Respond quickly to operational issues and minimize disruption - Continuously improve office spaces and operations The role requires serious energy and drive, with bias to action and ability to move fast. You'll work autonomously, take ownership, and be comfortable traveling to support London and New York teams. This is a visible global function with direct impact on how teams experience work daily. Requirements: - Experience managing offices or facilities in a fast-growing company - Multi-site or international experience preferred - Strong operator mindset: organized, practical, reliable - High standards and sharp eye for detail - Strong vendor management and budget control skills - Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership - Sharp communicator who works effectively across all business levels - Willingness to travel to support other office locations
