Reddit's Global Tax Team is seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to build and scale the company's global indirect tax function. Reporting to the International Tax Senior Manager, you will own critical elements of US and international indirect tax operations, including US Sales & Use tax and VAT/GST compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
You will partner closely with business stakeholders to translate complex tax requirements into practical decisions, reliable systems, and scalable processes. Key responsibilities include managing Reddit's global indirect tax function across B2B and B2C revenue streams; overseeing indirect tax registrations, return compliance, payments, exemption documentation, and taxability determinations; owning and improving indirect tax processes and systems including product mapping, exemptions, transaction testing, and system integrations; serving as the indirect tax cross-functional partner for new products, commercial arrangements, and geographic expansion; monitoring evolving e-invoicing and digital reporting requirements; performing indirect tax account reconciliations, accruals, and close activities; advising on indirect tax provisions in customer and vendor agreements; managing indirect tax audits and notices; monitoring legislative developments; and developing scalable processes and automation to improve data quality and operational controls.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, or related field
- 6+ years of indirect tax experience in public accounting and/or multinational corporate tax function with meaningful hands-on operational experience
- Technical and operational experience with both US and international indirect taxes, including B2B and B2C transactions
- Experience researching product and service taxability, registration and nexus obligations, place-of-supply rules, invoicing requirements, and exemptions
- Experience supporting indirect tax compliance, accounting, audits, and controls across multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to understand end-to-end transaction flows and convert tax requirements into workable processes, data requirements, and system configurations
- Strong project-management skills and experience supporting system changes or cross-functional initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment in fast-moving environment
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, curiosity, and commitment to developing durable solutions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Vertex experience, particularly with rule/product mapping, transaction testing, system integrations, configuration changes, data validation, reconciliations, and production troubleshooting (or experience with other enterprise indirect tax engines)
- Experience with indirect tax issues in technology, digital media, advertising, subscriptions, SaaS, or high-volume transactional businesses
- Experience implementing e-invoicing, digital reporting, or real-time reporting requirements
- Experience with ERP, billing, procurement, and financial-reporting systems and analyzing large transactional datasets
- Experience with automation or data tools such as Alteryx or SQL
- CPA, CMI, MST, JD, LLM, or comparable professional qualification
- Combination of public accounting and in-house experience
