MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is seeking Software Development Managers to lead engineering teams building a mobile-first work execution platform used by 13,000+ customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo. The platform manages 13.9 million assets and 79.5 million completed work orders. You will manage a team of 5–6 developers, transforming roadmaps into reliable, delivered software. You are responsible for delivery quality, setting priorities, and enabling your team to execute without losing sight of the business. You'll work across multiple potential teams: **Reporting**: Lead the product interface where customers measure MaintainX value, transforming millions of work orders and asset events into dashboards and analytics that maintenance managers present to leadership. High-visibility team with direct correlation between delivery and customer renewal. **Identity & Access Management**: Build systems ensuring secure, seamless access across the MaintainX platform. Design and operate authentication, authorization, and governance services that scale with enterprise customers while delivering frictionless, reliable user experience. **Search**: Design and build MaintainX's end-to-end search and retrieval platform. Work on indexing, ranking, and query understanding so technicians and managers find the right asset, procedure, or work order in seconds. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage 5–6 developers: own their delivery, quality, and daily priorities - Collaborate with product managers and designers to define scope, plan, and deliver to high reliability standards - Coach and grow developers: help them build skills, solve complex problems, and plan career progression - Shape the team: lead interviews, raise hiring bar, and build tomorrow's team - Set clear expectations and provide continuous feedback so the team knows where it stands - Champion CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices - Provide leadership visibility on impact, progress, and risks **Requirements** - 2–3 years of people leadership experience with a track record of teams that deliver - Strong technical foundation: comfortable working at senior level in systems design, computer science fundamentals, and modern web technologies - Experience in technical design, problem-solving, and project management (Jira experience preferred) - Genuine interest in recruiting, coaching, and developing engineers—not just directing them - Comfort collaborating with recruiting and other managers to hire and grow the organization - Excellent communication skills: able to discuss tradeoffs with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
