Halter is a climate-tech company revolutionizing livestock management through autonomous hardware (collars and towers) that enable rotational grazing without traditional fencing, herding, or labor-intensive practices. The company is backed by top-tier VCs including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, and DCVC. You will build and lead from the ground up the regional operations infrastructure for South America, a strategically important market for Halter's expansion into livestock production. As the first infrastructure leader in the region, you'll establish the operating system for field operations, directly shaping how Halter scales across the continent. Key responsibilities include: - Lead and develop a team of Infrastructure & Field Operations Specialists, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management to drive excellence. - Plan and coordinate regional operations: schedule workloads, deploy teams to the right locations at the right times, and ensure seamless coverage across South America. - Own hiring and team building to maintain full staffing and cover new positions as the region grows. - Serve as the primary escalation point for complex field issues, diagnosing hardware problems and coordinating rapid solutions. - Build and continuously improve the maintenance system for the South American market, ensuring consistent adoption and execution. - Participate hands-on in maintenance, repair, and hardware care alongside your team—this is a practical leadership role. - Support on-site and remote implementation of Halter systems at new farms, including drone mapping, installation, commissioning, and collar deployment. - Coordinate collar-placement activities across new and existing operations. - Participate in global on-call rotations for hardware incidents and prepare your team to do the same. - Collect, analyze, and interpret hardware data to optimize processes, solve problems proactively, and improve decision-making. - Track team performance metrics and identify operational improvements. - Share field learnings with Product and Engineering teams in Auckland to inform future product development. You'll work closely with teams across South America, the US, and Halter's headquarters in Auckland. Your insights from the field will directly influence what the company builds next.
