You'll join the Experience Platform team as a full-stack engineer focused on bringing visibility, control, and trust to Pinecone's product experiences. This role centers on billing, management, and authentication interfaces—critical systems that customers depend on to understand and trust their usage and costs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shaping product experience by influencing rollouts, proposing new features, and advocating for customer-centric design
- Shipping end-to-end experiences across API, SDK, and web interfaces, owning the full stack from HTTP layer to UI
- Designing and maintaining integrations with billing systems and vendor APIs, building resilience against outages, schema drift, and data inconsistencies
- Creating observable, auditable systems with monitoring, alerting, and verification mechanisms
- Adopting AI-assisted development practices (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to enable a small team to move at exceptional velocity
- Partnering with finance, product, and design teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
You'll operate with high autonomy and be an active strategic partner—not just executing a roadmap. The team values how you think and work over resume checkboxes, and will provide mentorship and technical guidance to set you up for success.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience
- Bias toward automation and leverage; preference for systems and tooling over manual work
- Hands-on experience shipping with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as a genuine part of your workflow
- Proven ability to design and deliver APIs for a rapidly scaling product surface
- Proficiency building web interfaces with React or similar frameworks
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong intuition for what makes APIs easy for both humans and agents to use correctly
BONUS:
- Experience at a SaaS company with usage-based or consumption pricing models
- Experience building billing-specific features such as usage dashboards or cost reporting
- Strong familiarity with compiled languages like Rust, Go, or Java
- Experience integrating with third-party financial APIs and building defensively against inconsistent or delayed data
- Experience with queueing and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub
