Manex AI builds the data integration and AI layer for manufacturing, connecting fragmented machines, sensors, and legacy systems. The company is backed by Lightspeed and BlueYard, headquartered in Munich with a fast-growing team.
As a Frontend Engineer, you will own frontend systems end-to-end across the entire ecosystem. You'll use AI as a serious engineering tool to ship high-volume, polished work while making thoughtful architectural decisions that keep the frontend coherent and scalable.
Key responsibilities:
- Build the interface for Kosmos, the platform that unifies enterprise data, operational context, and AI
- Develop interfaces for manufacturing applications embedded into Kosmos
- Ship components, conventions, tooling, and guidance to help AI agents, full-stack engineers, and forward-deployed engineers build UI faster
- Make architectural decisions that keep the frontend consistent, maintainable, and ready to scale
- Work directly with founders, engineers, and customers to see your work deployed on real factory floors
You should thrive in this role if you:
- Use AI as a serious engineering tool and can translate it into reliable, high-volume output
- Care deeply about architecture and know when to abstract and when to keep things simple
- Have strong visual judgment and notice when interfaces feel confusing, inconsistent, or unfinished
- Enjoy turning recurring UI problems into reusable primitives, patterns, documentation, and tooling
- Prioritize frontend fundamentals: usability, accessibility, performance, and maintainability
- Learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and form independent judgments about technical tradeoffs
The company values evidence of cleverness, craft, and learning speed over years of experience or specific credentials.
Current tech stack: Next.js 16.3, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix-based components, TanStack libraries, Storybook, Vitest, and Playwright. Familiarity is helpful but not required.
Nice-to-have experience includes TypeScript, React, Next.js, design systems, component libraries, Storybook, visual regression testing, accessibility and browser testing, SDKs, developer platforms, embedded applications, microfrontends, complex interfaces (data grids, graphs, editors, workflows, real-time state), and experience designing tools for AI-assisted development.
The company offers a cooperative team environment with high trust and ownership from day one, competitive salary and equity, corporate wellness membership, subsidized Deutschlandticket, regular team offsites across Europe, and relocation support including corporate housing.
