Flutterwave is a trusted payment infrastructure company enabling African consumers and businesses to participate in the global economy through borderless payments. We are seeking a Frontend Engineer to develop innovative and cutting-edge user interfaces for our products.
In this role, you will:
- Develop high-quality, responsive, and interactive front-end solutions using modern web technologies, particularly Vue.js
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into functional, visually appealing user interfaces
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through testing and deployment, ensuring high code quality, performance, and scalability
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Work autonomously and take initiative on daily tasks
- Stay current with front-end development trends, tools, and best practices, recommending innovative solutions
- Integrate front-end components with server-side logic, APIs, and databases for seamless data flow
- Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability across devices and browsers
- Identify and resolve technical challenges in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Create technical reports on feature implementations and research product improvements
- Maintain secure coding practices and protect customer and employee data in compliance with privacy policies and regulations
Requirements:
- 3-9 years of professional experience as a Frontend Engineer, preferably in fintech or financial services, with proven track record of delivering high-quality web applications
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks (Vue.js); TypeScript is a plus
- Experience with responsive web design and mobile-first development principles
- Solid understanding of web performance optimization techniques and best practices
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Gulp, Grunt)
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme, Jasmine) and test-driven development practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, agile environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
