Patreon is seeking a Fraud Specialist to join its Fraud Operations Team in Porto, Portugal. The role involves investigating and responding to customer contacts regarding suspicious activities, reviewing suspicious accounts using internal and external fraud tools, and taking appropriate action in accordance with company policies. You will independently determine and recommend courses of action following fraud detection, work cross-functionally with Content Moderation and Product Support teams on account suspensions and closures, and contribute to process improvements and key initiatives. The ideal candidate has 1+ years of professional experience with at least 1+ years of customer-facing contact experience. You should be fluent in English, comfortable with ambiguity, and experienced with fraud investigative techniques and practices. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to forge working relationships across multiple disciplines. A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a shared-success approach is critical. Basic knowledge of Zendesk, payment processing, and Excel are valued but not required. Paratreon is a media and community platform with 300,000+ creators, 60 million+ free memberships, and 10 million+ paying fans monthly. The company has generated $8 billion+ in revenue since inception and is investing heavily in building the best creator platform. The Fraud Operations Team is split between US and Porto-based teams, working on complex customer questions requiring deep investigation into fraud trends and payment processing analysis. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in-office presence in Porto.
