ARQ is seeking an FP&A Data Analyst to own the data foundations behind revenue, cost, and management reporting. You will sit between Finance and Engineering, building and maintaining the models that tell leadership how the business is performing, keeping them accurate daily, and turning them into actionable insights.
This is a hands-on role requiring comfort in both technical environments (dbt, Python) and financial analysis (P&L, management accounts). You will work closely with Finance, Treasury, and Engineering teams, with your work feeding directly into management, investor, and regulatory reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and maintaining the finance data layer via dbt: building models, writing tests, ensuring data quality and documentation
- Building and maintaining revenue and cost models, including unit economics and operations costs across payment rails, FX, card, banking partners, and vendors
- Supporting daily and monthly management accounts on accrual and cash basis, with reconciliation to source systems
- Running variance analysis and helping Finance understand performance drivers
- Maintaining and improving internal Python services and pipelines for finance reporting and reconciliation
- Mapping data sources across the product and payments stack, documenting business logic and assumptions
- Onboarding new products, partners, or markets into financial reporting and controls
- Building and improving dashboards and reporting with Finance and Controllership teams
- Identifying and resolving data quality issues, anomalies, and control breaks
- Promoting data literacy across the wider team
Requirements:
- 3+ years in a data, analytics, or FP&A role, ideally in fintech, banking, or payments
- Strong SQL and solid Python
- Hands-on experience with dbt (or similar transformation tool) and version control (Git)
- Good grasp of financial statements, management accounts, and core finance concepts (accruals, revenue recognition, unit economics)
- Quantitative background through education or experience
- Strong attention to detail and quality-first mindset while meeting tight deadlines
- Clear communication skills: able to explain variances to CFOs and data models to engineers
- Initiative to automate repetitive work and improve processes
Nice to have:
- Experience with regulatory or external reporting
- Exposure to reconciliations, treasury, or general ledger data
- BI tools experience (Metabase, Looker, Power BI)
- Orchestration tools experience (Airflow or similar)
- Production code maintenance experience (code review, testing, CI/CD)
- Spanish or Portuguese proficiency
