Reducto is an agentic document platform serving leading AI teams with enterprise-grade document processing. The company has grown 8x YoY, raised over $100M from top-tier investors (a16z, Benchmark, First Round), and partners with companies like Harvey, Vanta, Scale, and FAANG enterprises.
As Founding Data Engineer, you will build Reducto's data infrastructure from the ground up, owning the entire data stack end-to-end. You'll architect and manage core systems including Snowflake, Postgres, Clickhouse, and data lakes. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing and owning data orchestration, transformation pipelines, and the evolution of the technical stack
- Building pipelines that unify product usage, sales, and finance data from APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems
- Modeling raw data into clean, documented tables accessible company-wide
- Establishing data reliability standards including tests, freshness checks, lineage tracking, and clear ownership definitions
- Partnering with Engineering on usage data and with Finance, Ops, and GTM on business metrics
- Leveraging AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining a clean foundation
You'll be the first data hire at a fast-growing company, balancing foundational architecture decisions with urgent business needs. This role offers rare ownership of data strategy and the opportunity to define the data function as it scales.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Strong command of SQL, Python, and dbt
- Production experience with cloud warehouses (Snowflake required)
- Proven track record building and owning end-to-end data pipelines in production
- Systems-thinking approach to design for scale
- Ability to translate vague business requests into clear deliverables and negotiate priorities
- Comfort operating as sole data hire
BONUS:
- Prior experience as first or founding data hire
- Knowledge of usage-based pricing, consumption models, or PLG-plus-sales-assisted funnels
- Hands-on experience with modern ETL/orchestration tools (Fivetran, Dagster, Airflow)
- AI-forward mindset and experience pushing AI capabilities
