Maxima is an agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting that automates journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis to SOX standards. The company was founded by finance leaders from Rubrik, Twitter, and Netflix, and has raised $41M from top-tier VCs. Maxima is already in production at Scale AI, Rippling, Glean, and SpotOn.
As a Forward Deployment Strategist, you will own the technical and operational delivery of complex enterprise implementations, working directly with CFOs, controllers, and accounting operations teams. You will be the primary bridge between customers, Product, and Engineering, translating accounting workflows into well-defined implementation plans and managing deployment timelines, dependencies, and milestones.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own technical and operational delivery for multiple enterprise implementations to reach automation and close-efficiency goals
- Act as primary interface between customers, Product, and Engineering
- Manage deployment timelines, dependencies, and milestones while removing blockers
- Create standardized frameworks, tools, and templates for deploying Maxima across customers and industries
- Support pre-sales scoping and discovery for enterprise prospects
- Bring field insights into roadmap priorities and future platform capabilities
- Identify patterns across deployments and improve delivery velocity
You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success daily, shaping the deployment methodology itself and turning field insights into repeatable playbooks. Success is measured by faster deployments, stronger adoption, and measurable customer outcomes.
The role is based in San Mateo with an expectation of 4-5 days per week in-office collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in enterprise customer-facing technical roles (solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical implementation)
- Track record of leading complex, high-stakes software deployments at large enterprises
- Strong understanding of financial systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday) or experience working in/with finance operations teams
- Ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience designing scalable processes and standardizing workflows
- Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high ownership
- Curiosity about AI and enterprise operations
