Anysphere, maker of Cursor (an AI-native code editor), is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed directly with customer engineering teams and ship production-grade Cursor workflows that measurably improve how they build software.
You will own the full lifecycle of customer solutions: lead discovery conversations to identify real bottlenecks and define success metrics; design and build Cursor-powered workflows (e.g., large-scale refactors, migrations, PR review loops, incident-to-fix pipelines, spec-to-implementation systems); ship a fast first version in days, then harden it into something reliable over weeks with proper rollout plans, monitoring, and iteration based on real usage. You'll be responsible for production quality—tracing, evals, metrics, debugging model behavior, latency/cost tradeoffs, and failure modes. You'll work directly with Staff+ and Platform/Eng leaders, going deep in code while communicating clearly about tradeoffs and results. You'll also turn what you build into reusable patterns and push improvements back into the core Cursor product.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience building and owning AI-native workflows in production (not just prototypes) and debugging real-world model failures
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, turn fuzzy problems into clear scopes, and ship systems end-to-end
- Comfortable leading discovery conversations and being accountable for customer outcomes
- Full-stack capability: if it needs frontend, backend, infra, or prompt iteration, you own it
- Production reliability experience: metrics, alerts, safe rollouts, incident response
- Strong in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript with ability to ramp quickly on new stacks
