Salary: USD 150,000 - 190,000 / annual
Treeswift builds physical AI systems for field workers in the energy sector, combining hardware (LiDAR, cameras, sensors), AI, and software to increase worker productivity by 10x. The company works with three of the five largest US utilities, helping them reduce wildfire risk, manage vegetation-related outages, and accelerate storm recovery.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the bridge between Treeswift's technology and customer operations. Your responsibilities include:
- Embedding with customers on-site to understand their field and office workflows, identifying how Treeswift's platform can address their challenges and where product gaps exist.
- Deploying the platform at customer locations: configuring systems, setting up user logins, leading training sessions, and serving as the primary support contact and feedback channel.
- Supporting integrations with customer data systems by mapping Treeswift data into target schemas, starting with one-off data dumps and evolving toward robust API-based operational pipelines.
- Extending the platform to meet customer needs, which may involve writing Python models for business logic, contributing features to the web application, or leading larger product initiatives. Some work will be rapid MVPs; other contributions will be fully-fledged features reviewed by the core engineering team before company-wide deployment.
- Conducting analyses to help customers understand and validate Treeswift data, ranging from one-off reports to comparative studies against customer data.
You will work in a high-autonomy, early-stage environment where you communicate across diverse stakeholders—from field workers and operations teams to C-suite executives. The role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong technical fundamentals, and the ability to learn quickly.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of professional experience
- Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a high-autonomy, early-stage environment
- Excellent communication skills across diverse stakeholders (field workers, executives, technical teams)
- Experience in a highly technical environment (software development, robotics, engineering, or finance)
- Proficiency coding in Python and contributing to web application development
- Ability to quickly learn new technical concepts
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience with data pipelines, embedded systems, or machine learning
- Prior SaaS software company experience
- Prior experience in utilities, energy sector, or industries with significant field work or industrial operations
