MSPbots is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work embedded within managed service provider (MSP) clients, designing and deploying AI agents that automate their core business processes.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct discovery sessions with clients to identify 1–3 high-impact processes worth automating, and confidently recommend against low-value automation
- Extract real, actionable process specifications from undocumented, chaotic workflows
- Build AI agents on MSPbots' deepagents-based platform, including tools, subagents, memory management, and human-in-the-loop approval gates
- Integrate agents safely into client systems with proper tenant isolation and data governance
- Conduct shadow reviews and validation until the client has confidence in the agent
- Ship runbooks and train client teams on agent operation and maintenance
You will work directly with skeptical, non-technical clients and need to communicate clearly about what is and isn't ready to automate. The role requires working between 8 AM–5 PM CST.
Requirements:
- 2+ years in MSP operations (or 1+ year at MSPbots in a client-facing/delivery role) — you understand ticket flows, collections processes, and operational pain points
- Code literacy — you don't need to write Python from scratch, but you must be able to review AI-generated code and SQL for correctness, even if it executes without error
- Comfort with ambiguity — ability to turn vague client problems ("our dispatch is a mess") into concrete specifications
- Prior automation experience, even informal (scripts, workflow rules, bots)
- Confidence presenting to and negotiating with skeptical clients, including delivering hard truths about automation readiness
