Salary: USD 83,700 - 104,600 / annual
Archer Technologies is an aerospace and defense company headquartered in San Jose, California, building next-generation aircraft and technology including Midnight (all-electric air taxi), Halo (autonomous vertical takeoff and landing aircraft), and ZEE (AI foundation model for aviation).
You will install, test, and support aircraft flight test instrumentation systems to meet Archer's requirements. Your responsibilities include building and maintaining fly-by-wire aircraft according to aviation standards using calibrated tooling; performing developmental, experimental, and production aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and testing tasks; creating and executing Flight Test Instrumentation policies and procedures (5S, FOD, work orders, tool control); building and installing harness assemblies, strain gauges, DAQ systems, accelerometers, and other sensor parameters; providing project plans and status updates to supervisors and program management; maintaining detailed records of all work performed; ensuring calibration of test equipment and tools; managing inventory of products, parts, supplies, and consumables; working from technical materials including blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and engineering work orders; meeting scheduled and aggressive timelines to have aircraft flight-ready for project milestones; and assuming delegated duties.
You will work in a hangar environment at Salinas South Hanger (1585 Moffett) and may be required to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel of 5-10% is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- NCATT AET or A&P certification (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
- 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Previous Flight Test Instrumentation experience
- Previous developmental or Part 23/Part 27 certification flight test maintenance experience
- Hands-on experience with fly-by-wire aircraft and flight test instrumentation
- Aircraft configuration management and conformity experience
- Experience working with high voltage systems
- Knowledge of wiring techniques and best practices (crimping, routing, securing)
- Ability to drive aircraft tugs, carts, and lifts within an airport environment
- Collaborative attitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to build cross-functional relationships
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel, technicians, and engineers
- Excellent planning and organization skills, including ability to give direction to others
- Ability to drive continuous improvement activities
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15+ years aviation experience
- Prior experience with electric aircraft/eVTOL
- Working knowledge of composite airframe and repair
- Underpinning knowledge of IPC 610/620
- Experience with CAD, NX, Confluence, JIRA
