Blitzy is an AI software development platform transforming how enterprises build software by autonomously executing 80% of software development work. As the first FinOps Engineer, you'll build the company's infrastructure cost optimization practice from the ground up, owning cloud cost governance across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises environments.
You'll partner closely with Engineering, Platform, and Finance teams to turn infrastructure spend into a strategic advantage. Key responsibilities include: actively optimizing cloud spend across multiple providers while maintaining reliability; establishing company-wide FinOps governance, forecasting, budgeting, and tagging standards; designing and implementing a cost allocation platform that accurately attributes infrastructure costs to products, services, and customers for COGS reporting; developing dashboards and data pipelines that consolidate billing data from multiple cloud providers; and working with Engineering and Platform teams to embed cost optimization into infrastructure design and Kubernetes operations.
You'll have direct visibility into how infrastructure spend connects to Blitzy's unit economics and executive reporting, working in close collaboration with US-based Finance and Engineering teams. This role requires 4+ years of FinOps or cloud cost optimization experience, hands-on management of at least two major cloud providers, working knowledge of Kubernetes cost management, and experience building multi-source billing dashboards and data pipelines. Familiarity with FinOps frameworks, tagging governance, forecasting, budgeting, and chargeback models is essential. Strong communication skills and ability to work across time zones are required. Preferred qualifications include FinOps Certified Practitioner certification, experience with cloud cost management platforms like CloudHealth or Kubecost, background building cost allocation models tied to COGS reporting, direct partnership experience with Finance teams, and prior experience at fast-growing startups managing multi-cloud infrastructure.
