This role serves as the primary finance point of contact for merchant-related financial operations at a fintech company. You will support payouts, settlements, and reconciliations while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to resolve financial and system-related issues and ensure accurate, timely merchant payouts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary finance point of contact for merchant-related financial operations
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to resolve operational and system-related financial issues
- Provide financial clarifications to internal teams on payout logic, settlement models, and merchant configurations
- Prepare, validate, and reconcile merchant payouts, fees, VAT, and offsets across internal systems, ERP, and bank statements
- Liaise with banks and payment partners to resolve failed, delayed, or reversed transfers
- Support rollout of new payout models, markets, or financial processes
- Develop internal documentation, FAQs, and training materials
- Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in implementing them
- Support month-end close activities and assist during internal and external audits
- Perform other duties as required to ensure smooth financial operations
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in Financial Operations, Payments Operations, Accounting, or FinTech-related roles
- Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar) and Microsoft Excel for large datasets and reconciliations
- Experience with CRM or ticketing platforms (a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly
- Experience working in cross-functional, data-driven teams
- Proactive and accountable mindset with ability to work under pressure
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Flexible to work in rotational shifts
