PowerX is an engineering and power infrastructure services company delivering protection, control, commissioning, NETA field services, and compliance across the United States and Canada. The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager leads the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions as a strategic partner to the leadership team. This role owns the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range plan across all subsidiaries in NetSuite OneWorld, consolidated across entities and multiple currencies. You will drive revenue forecasting tied to backlog, awarded work, and pipeline, connecting job-level schedules to consolidated income statements. You own multi-factor cash flow forecasting, including a 13-week liquidity view, and produce clear budget-to-actual and forecast-to-forecast bridges explaining variances in plain language. You deliver job- and location-level profitability analysis for a project-based business, including job costing, contract accounting analyses, and margin fade studies. You own labor productivity analytics—revenue per hour by location, service line, and project type—and convert findings into specific actions with operations leaders. You analyze fleet, equipment, and indirect costs, and own the recurring monthly reporting package for the executive team and board, assembled through automation. You run a bottom-up budget process with branch and operations leaders, monitor variances, and flag issues to leadership. You define and maintain the operating KPI set (revenue per hour, labor utilization, backlog conversion, DSO, cash conversion) and build self-serve KPI reporting. You lead the selection and implementation of a cloud planning platform integrated to NetSuite, pull your own data from saved searches and source systems (Ramp, Egnyte, Fleetio, timekeeping), and build dashboards using advanced Excel and Power Query. You automate recurring work and use AI tooling to accelerate analysis. You directly supervise the Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst and grow the team as the platform scales, operating as a player-coach who builds models and pulls data personally. You foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, providing mentorship and career development. You partner with operations, project management, and branch leadership to evaluate acquisitions, new locations, and service line investments. You prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for the board and lender group, including covenant compliance packages. You support M&A diligence, quality-of-earnings reviews, and integration planning, folding acquired entities into the planning model and tracking synergy capture. You ensure financial processes comply with internal policies and external regulations, and identify and mitigate financial risks. PowerX is an active acquirer with a people-first culture, recognized as a Great Place to Work and Fortune Best Workplace in Construction. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field - MBA or CFA encouraged but not required - 4+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 1 year leading the function or serving as the senior-most analytical resource; hands-on model-building experience valued over people-management tenure - Hands-on NetSuite experience strongly preferred; advanced Excel required - Experience implementing a planning system (Adaptive, Planful, Vena, Pigment, or similar) viewed positively - Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills, demonstrated in a live modeling and data exercise during interviews - Experience in a project-based business (electrical, mechanical, construction, engineering, or field services) with percentage-of-completion revenue, WIP, and job costing strongly preferred - Experience in a private equity-backed and/or acquisitive environment, including lender and sponsor reporting, preferred - Bias to build: takes problems from raw data to finished, working models without waiting on IT, consultants, or vendors - Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders - Detail-oriented, proactive, willing to do unglamorous work (data cleanup, mapping tables, chart of accounts hygiene) - High adaptability in dynamic business environments - Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete toolsets; treats gaps as things to fix - Genuinely curious about operations—crews, job sites, schedules, equipment - Fluent in or hungry to learn modern data and AI tooling - Direct and low-ego; will push back on leadership with data - Satisfactory background and credit check required
