You will be Pylon's first Controller, owning all aspects of accounting and financial operations as the company scales from Series B and beyond. This is a foundational, high-impact role reporting to the VP of Finance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning month-end close processes, consolidations, and GAAP-compliant financial statement preparation
- Overseeing AR (Order-to-Cash) and AP (Procure-to-Pay) processes, partnering with sales, revenue operations, legal, and operations teams
- Implementing and owning systems infrastructure (ERP, reporting tools) to enable business scaling
- Designing and implementing robust internal controls and audit-ready processes
- Leveraging AI agents and automation to reduce manual workflows such as transaction categorization and reconciliations
- Managing external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
You will build the accounting team as the company scales, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and improving processes from the ground up rather than maintaining steady-state functions.
Requirements:
- Professional experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager role at a high-growth venture-backed startup
- Experience owning a full-cycle close process and audit process
- Experience building or improving systems and processes from the ground up, not inheriting a mature function
- Deep technical accounting knowledge including ASC 606 and multi-entity consolidations
- CPA required
