Insify is a Series B-funded AI-powered SME insurance scale-up backed by €43M from investors including Accel and Munich Re Ventures. The company has expanded across the Netherlands, France, and Germany, and is building the finance function with a focus on technology and data-driven operations.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of finance, accounting, and data in a small, high-impact team with direct access to leadership. You'll own the full lifecycle of financial data: extracting, cleaning, and reconciling premium, commission, and claims positions across multiple insurance carrier partners and accounting systems. You'll write SQL queries against the data warehouse and Python scripts to automate reconciliation, data cleaning, and analysis workflows. You'll build and maintain dashboards (QuickSight, Excel/Sheets) that provide real-time visibility into cash, receivables, and payables. You'll identify anomalies and trends in financial datasets, drive them to root cause, and support forecasting and budgeting with data-driven insight.
You'll use Claude and other AI tools daily to write, debug, and document code, explore data, and accelerate analysis. You'll automate recurring finance workflows using tools like n8n, partner with accounting on compliance reporting (VAT, insurance premium tax) across markets, and help improve data quality and financial controls as the company scales. Where work belongs in production systems, you'll act as the finance-side liaison to the data and engineering teams, translating finance requirements into technical specifications and vice versa. You won't just report numbers—you'll help redesign how they come together, deciding what to automate, what to keep manual, and how to strengthen controls.
The role offers real ownership from day one, no bureaucracy, and the freedom to act on your judgment within your mandate. You'll explain findings clearly to accounting, operations, and leadership, and you'll build solutions rather than handing them off.
