Salary: USD 113,000 - 155,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Field Technical Specialist to join the Deployment Operations group's Counter Intrusion team in Costa Mesa, California. This role is responsible for deploying and supporting Anduril's advanced defense products globally, working at the intersection of hardware, software, and networking systems. You will be the technical backbone for military defense projects, executing field operations, conducting maintenance, and providing direct customer support and training. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and networking issues in unstructured field environments; communicating status updates to internal and customer teams; supporting operational and logistical planning for deployments; and ensuring high availability of critical defense systems. Key technical duties include tower climbing and installation/maintenance of sensor equipment (cameras, radars, pan-tilt units); troubleshooting and repairing site infrastructure (generators, solar systems, hydraulic systems); performing preventative maintenance on tower structures (guy wires, anchors, lightning protection); and conducting incident response root-cause analyses. You will also mentor teammates on systems you've mastered and guide users through product employment and troubleshooting. Required qualifications: 3+ years of problem-solving experience in unstructured environments at the hardware/software/networking interface; ability to climb towers and install/maintain sensor equipment; strong mechanical aptitude for infrastructure troubleshooting; experience with preventative maintenance on tower structures; ability to operate aerial lifts and forklifts; willingness to travel to remote regions for up to two months at a time (50%+ annually); ability to relocate to Costa Mesa if not local; and eligibility for U.S. Top Secret/Secret clearance. Preferred qualifications include a B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or related field; prior tower climbing certifications (Tower Climbing, OSHA 10/30); valid Commercial Driver's License; working knowledge of IP networking and Linux command line; and prior military or overseas contracting experience.
