Via Transportation is building the technology backbone for modern public transit networks globally. As a Field Operations Manager, you'll lead daily onsite operations for Via's transit services in Los Angeles, ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for riders across the community.
You'll own the operational heartbeat of the service, making real-time decisions about fleet management, driver supply, compliance, and rider needs. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground role requiring 4–5 days per week onsite. Your responsibilities include running smooth daily operations, addressing unexpected issues quickly, guiding and supporting drivers, and turning rider feedback into tangible improvements.
You'll use data and technology to diagnose performance issues and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and rider experience. You'll act as the operational bridge between city partners, drivers, and Via's central teams, helping bring the community's transportation goals to life.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in transit operations for state, municipal, federal, or commercial clients. You're operationally experienced with a background in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work. You're relationship-oriented, earning trust through clear communication and follow-through. You're tactical and strategic—solving immediate problems while thinking long-term about mitigation. You're mission-driven, motivated by expanding transportation access and improving community mobility. Prior microtransit experience is a plus. You must be based in the Los Angeles area and ready for consistent onsite presence.
