Science 37 is accelerating clinical research by enabling universal trial access for patients through decentralized, direct-to-patient solutions. The Field Nursing Operations Manager is a Registered Nurse responsible for operational oversight, implementation, and daily management of all nursing activities for clinical research studies within a Southeast regional territory (FL, LA, GA, or AL).
This is a fully remote role with up to 60% travel. The position is 40% administrative and 60% field-based, requiring the ability to deploy across regions to provide targeted study coverage and align specialized nursing expertise with therapeutic trial requirements.
Key responsibilities include: supervising all nursing activities in the assigned region; ensuring participant and staff safety in compliance with federal, state, and professional regulatory standards; managing per diem mobile research nurses as direct reports, including documentation and performance oversight; developing and delivering protocol-specific training and nurse-facing resource materials; serving as the nursing subject matter expert (SME) for assigned studies; collaborating cross-functionally on study implementation from startup through closure; providing direct mobile research nurse services to qualified participants as needed; maintaining strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality; ensuring quality data collection and timely entry into the Science 37 platform; identifying process improvements; and participating in internal audits and ad hoc projects.
The role requires strong clinical expertise, the ability to work independently in a decentralized matrix environment, excellent communication and presentation skills, proficiency with MS Office and Google applications, and the capacity to adapt quickly to schedule and process changes. You will serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, help solve operational issues, and represent the company professionally in participant homes and clinical settings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active RN licensure in home state (required); Compact Licensure preferred
- BSN degree preferred
- Minimum 5+ years clinical/research experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience required; 3+ years preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Active driver's license
- Ability to obtain nursing licenses in multiple states based on study needs
- Expert nursing skills including venipuncture, IV placement, medication administration, comprehensive nursing assessments, ECGs, vital sign collection, and emergency first-responder care
- Physical ability to perform nursing tasks and lift equipment up to 15 kg
- Access to reliable vehicle for participant visits and equipment transport
- Ability to drive and/or fly to local and remote locations
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
- Strong proficiency with MS Office suite and Google applications
- Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, accountability, cooperation, and flexibility
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
