Serve Robotics is building autonomous sidewalk delivery robots to transform urban logistics. This Field Development Test Associate role is central to validating robot performance in real-world conditions across multiple US cities.
You will execute field testing activities for autonomous delivery robots by following established test plans and operational guidelines. Key responsibilities include deploying, monitoring, and operating robots in live environments; performing commercial deliveries while representing Serve professionally to merchants and customers; identifying and documenting software, hardware, and operational issues; collecting test data and observations to support product development; troubleshooting basic field issues and escalating complex problems to engineering; preparing robots through routine inspections, charging, and maintenance; maintaining accurate testing records and operational logs; and collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams on testing, deployments, and pilot programs.
You'll work outdoors in varying weather conditions, walking or biking several miles per shift, and lifting equipment as needed. The role requires attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, independent work within established processes, and strong communication skills. A valid US driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with field testing, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or technical operations; familiarity with issue tracking tools like Jira; basic scripting or programming experience (Python, C++); experience with data visualization tools (Grafana, Looker); and troubleshooting expertise. This is a full-time, onsite position in West Hollywood with occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work to support deployments and operational needs.
