Quantum Space is seeking a Facilities Manager to own the operation, reliability, and expansion of engineering and test facilities supporting spacecraft development and on-orbit servicing missions. This role is critical to enabling hardware development, integration, and test by ensuring infrastructure is robust, safe, and scalable.
Key responsibilities include owning facility operations across HVAC, electrical, compressed gases, vacuum infrastructure, and general utilities. You will ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NFPA, local codes) and plan/execute facility upgrades to support spacecraft development and test activities. You'll coordinate infrastructure needs with engineering teams—managing power, cooling, vacuum systems, and test setups—while managing vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
Additional duties include developing and managing maintenance programs and facility reliability plans, supporting lab buildouts and test stand installation, and managing budgets, schedules, and project execution for facility improvements.
Required qualifications: BS in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience); 5–10+ years managing technical facilities in lab, aerospace, manufacturing, or similar environments; strong knowledge of building systems and infrastructure; experience with contractor/vendor management; strong organizational and project management skills; and work location within the Hawthorne, CA area.
Nice-to-have experience includes aerospace or test facility support, familiarity with vacuum systems, cleanrooms, or specialized labs, and experience with CMMS systems. The role offers ownership of real contributions to flight hardware, mentorship from experienced spacecraft engineers, clear growth path to subsystem ownership, and competitive salary with equity and comprehensive benefits.
