Blacksmith is a hypergrowth infrastructure company that has built a platform to run CI workloads at scale using a global fleet of bare-metal machines. The company orchestrates tens of millions of Firecracker VMs weekly for 7,000+ companies, has grown 10x in 2026, and operates thousands of bare-metal machines across multiple regions with petabyte-scale infrastructure. Backed by Google Ventures and Peak XV Partners with $58.5M raised, Blacksmith is now extending into agent sandboxes and background coding agents. As Executive Assistant to the CEO, you will be the CEO's right hand during this critical hypergrowth phase, owning all logistics and operational support to enable the CEO to focus entirely on business success. This is a no-ego role requiring proactive problem-solving and exceptional judgment. You will own the CEO's calendar end-to-end—scheduling, sequencing, protecting focus time, and making hard prioritization calls about what earns a slot. You'll build and maintain a lightweight CEO operating system with weekly priorities, open loops, follow-ups, and reminders. You'll prep the CEO for every meeting with context, pre-reads, agendas, and attendee information, then capture action items to ensure nothing drops. You'll manage the CEO's inbox by triaging, prioritizing, and drafting responses in their voice. You'll serve as a trusted point of contact for investors, board members, design partners, customers, and press, exercising judgment about what requires the CEO's attention versus what you can handle. You'll coordinate with EAs and chiefs of staff at partner, customer, and investor organizations, handling sensitive information with complete discretion. Travel and personal logistics fall under your purview: planning and booking domestic and international travel, coordinating appointments, household services, purchases, deliveries, and family travel. You'll build systems that integrate personal administration seamlessly with professional priorities and solve problems in real time when plans change. You'll assist in running the San Francisco office day-to-day—managing vendors, supplies, food, and space. You'll help coordinate offsites, team dinners, customer dinners, and networking events. You'll be the person who notices what's broken and fixes it before anyone asks. REQUIREMENTS: - Proven experience supporting C-suite executives in the fastest-paced environments: either supporting the CEO of another hypergrowth startup, or supporting Partners at demanding investment banking, private equity, or venture capital firms - Ability to preempt needs and fill them without explicit direction - Highest sense of urgency to all tasks; relentlessly focused on delivery - No-ego approach to work; you own whatever the task is - Strong judgment and prioritization instincts; you know what matters most and why - Exceptional written communication, including the ability to write clearly in someone else's voice - Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and a company that looks different every quarter - High EQ, real discretion, and obsessive attention to detail - Fluency with modern tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Linear) and strong understanding of how a tech startup operates - Comfort supporting both professional and personal logistics Not a fit if you primarily think of an EA role as calendar management, need every task clearly defined before beginning, wait for direction when you see something needs doing, are uncomfortable with personal logistics or operational tasks, prefer predictable days and fixed priorities, care more about perceived task seniority than whether it needs to get done, want a remote or hybrid role, or don't operate with strong urgency.
