Empathy is a venture-backed platform transforming how families navigate life's most difficult transitions—from bereavement to major life changes—by combining technology with compassionate human care. The company partners with leading employers, insurers, and financial institutions to deliver human-centric support at scale, currently serving over 50 million people across the US, Canada, and the UK. Backed by top-tier investors including General Catalyst and Index Ventures, Empathy has raised over $160 million. This dual-function Executive Assistant role supports the Chief Business Officer and the broader Go-to-Market organization, blending executive administration with project and operational support. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, pays meticulous attention to detail, and excels at keeping senior leaders and cross-functional teams aligned and moving forward. Key responsibilities include: managing the CBO's calendar with high judgment to prioritize competing demands; coordinating complex domestic and international travel including flights, hotels, and detailed itineraries; preparing the CBO for meetings with agendas, briefing materials, and relevant context; handling expense reporting and reconciliation; supporting GTM team programs, offsites, and cross-functional initiatives; maintaining operational cadences including meeting rhythms, QBRs, and leadership syncs; building decks, reports, and internal communications; and serving as connective tissue across GTM functions to keep teams aligned. Required qualifications: 2–4 years of experience as an executive assistant, chief of staff, business operations professional, or similar role, ideally at a fast-growing company; exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; strong calendar and travel management experience across time zones; high emotional intelligence and ability to build trust with executives, peers, and external stakeholders; discretion and professionalism with sensitive information; excellent written and verbal communication; comfort operating in ambiguity and proactively identifying what needs to happen; proficiency with productivity tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, or similar). Nice-to-have skills include experience supporting commercial or go-to-market functions (sales, marketing, partnerships), familiarity with project management and AI tools (Notion, Claude), background at a high-growth startup or tech company, and Hebrew fluency (the CBO works closely with the Israeli team). This role offers direct visibility into executive-level business operations and is positioned as a strong stepping stone for someone interested in growing into a Chief of Staff or operations track.
