Goodfire is a research company using interpretability to understand and design AI systems safely. The company is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, backed by over $200M from top-tier investors including B Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed, and Eric Schmidt. The team includes world-class interpretability researchers and engineers from OpenAI and DeepMind.
You will serve as Executive Assistant supporting the COO and Principal Investigator, owning their calendar and inboxes while orchestrating travel, meeting logistics, and personal tasks. Your core responsibilities include protecting their time and attention for high-impact work, coordinating internal and external meetings, and partnering with the Operations team to create an exceptional employee experience.
The role is intense and fast-paced in a high-growth startup environment. You'll face novel problems without established playbooks, requiring you to thrive in ambiguity and bring order to complexity. No two days will look the same—you might reschedule a board meeting one moment and source last-minute catering the next.
You care deeply about quality and excellence, are relentlessly organized with strong communication skills, and find genuine joy in helping people and organizations run better. You thrive in environments where priorities shift quickly, take pride in flawless execution, and treat every challenge as meaningful work. You understand that strong executive support is built on trust and relationships, so you invest in becoming a reliable partner across the organization.
Preferred qualifications include experience in fast-paced early-stage startups, prior C-level support in venture-backed companies, comfort negotiating with vendors and managing complex multi-timezone calendars, demonstrated success planning multi-day off-sites or customer events, and proficiency with modern productivity tools like Google Workspace, Notion, and Slack.
The role requires 5 days per week onsite in San Francisco. You'll report into Executive Operations and join a mission-driven team committed to making AI safer and more understandable through interpretability research.
