Basecamp Research is building frontier AI for therapeutic design, leveraging EDEN models trained on BaseData—the world's largest proprietary genomic dataset with over 10 billion genes from partnerships across 30+ countries. The company designs cell and gene therapies, enzymes, and peptides directly from disease information, with therapeutics advancing toward clinical development. Recently closed a $140M Series C led by S32 with participation from NVIDIA, Anthropic's Anthology Fund, and others. The company operates offices and labs in London and Boston.
You will serve as Executive Assistant and Office Manager for the Boston team, reporting to the Chief Business Officer with a dotted line to the VP of People. This is a hands-on, in-office role in a fast-paced startup environment where you'll provide seamless business partnering to C-suite executives, particularly the Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Business Officer.
Key responsibilities include: owning complex, high-volume executive calendars across multiple time zones; arranging domestic and international travel, itineraries, and expense processes; managing end-to-end meeting and team event support, including sourcing venues for socials and offsites; identifying opportunities to streamline recurring processes and taking on ad hoc projects as the Boston team scales; collaborating with People, Operations, and UK office counterparts for consistency across locations; and supporting the Business Development team on diligence processes with pharma partners, managing communications, tracking follow-ups, and maintaining CRM systems.
You'll be an integral part of the Boston team's culture, planning team events, managing day-to-day partnership guests, and working closely with cross-functional partners in both the US and UK to help shape how executive support, events, and office operations scale.
Requirements: 5+ years of experience in executive partnering or similar role within a tech-focused, AI, or biotech organization with a track record of coordinating complex projects and improving operational processes. Experience working in a scaling startup environment—fast-paced, ambiguous, and prone to changing priorities. Proven experience supporting executives or senior leadership, including complex calendar management and global scheduling across time zones. Hands-on event planning and logistics experience, comfortable running a leadership offsite or team event from concept to cleanup. Responsive and flexible, quick to react, follow up, and adapt. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with sound judgment and discretion. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. Genuine curiosity about science and interest in being embedded in the research community. Fluent with scheduling and productivity tools (Google Workspace, Slack, or similar).
Advantageous: Experience in life sciences, biotech, or R&D-intensive industries; understanding of genomics, bioinformatics, or drug discovery. Prior experience at a high-growth startup or scaling operations for technical teams. Familiarity with modern software and AI tools; an AI-first mindset. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proactive problem-solving and resourcefulness. Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change. High degree of ownership and drive.
