Pluralis Research is pioneering Protocol Learning, a decentralized approach to training and deploying AI models that democratizes frontier-scale AI development. As Events & Operations Associate, you'll own how Pluralis shows up in the world while keeping operational machinery running smoothly for this fast-moving research company.
You'll manage event logistics end-to-end, including team offsites, major conference presence (NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML), a Tech Talks series, and executive dinners. The role requires capturing post-event learnings in a centralized system to continuously improve future events. You'll also systematize travel and scheduling for the CEO with an agent-first mindset—building repeatable systems rather than serving as a permanent executive assistant.
Broad operational support across the business includes executing onboarding flows, polishing documents and communications, and establishing the San Francisco office presence. This is a hands-on, execution-first role working directly with the CEO and Chief of Staff in a small, distributed team.
You should have a track record of flawless execution, demonstrated experience running events end-to-end (venues, logistics, budgets, vendors, delivery), and a systems mindset—preferring to build something once that runs itself over repeating tasks. You're comfortable rotating across functions without waiting for direction, communicate clearly in writing, and maintain high discretion working with founders and executives.
Nice-to-haves include experience coordinating conference presence in tech/AI/ML/research/crypto communities, hands-on use of AI tools to automate workflows, and early-stage startup experience through rapid growth or fundraising. The company is backed by Union Square Ventures and operates as a remote team across Australia and the US, so you must be comfortable working across timezones.
